A sample of Molybdenum metal in the form of zone refined single crystal rod.  Purity is 99.99%.  Orientation 111 with a deviation of 2º.  The rod makes for a very unique sample of Molybdenum metal which was produced by zone refining, resulting in a single metal crystal of very high purity.  Material like this is very rare and usually very expensive due to the zone refining process used to purify the metal for research purposes.  Note the ripply surface texture of the sample from the zone refining process.
